take a lot of the worry away from finding and buying a Yank
to bring back to Blighty.

the cars and how to find one which is ideal to ship home

California dream-seekers inevitably flock south
in search of "dry", restorable cars. In this video
the viewer is guided around a number of possible locations
such as impound and wrecking yards, to discover complete
50's and 60's classics, including some great looking early
pick-up trucks, as well as a good selection of later
examples.
A visit to "Jim's Restoration shop" provides good
footage and an interesting interview with the owner
as he takes us around his private collection. Here
you will see classics of all ages and pedigrees in
various stages of both restoration and what looks
like criminal neglect! To me all this collection
lacked to complete the picture, was maybe a sign on
the wall reading "So many cars… so little time".
Although officially a private collection, many of
the cars are open to offer.
Yank Scrap Yards also provides useful tips such as
prices, contacts and shipping information.
